Workplace Violence Protection
Today’s workplace environment has undergone tectonic changes. It has emerged from just a workplace to a place where bonds of friendship are forged, camaraderie is formed and banters are exchanged among colleagues. However what thwart this new development is the sporadic episodes of violence that have been witnessed in various organizations’ workplaces today. Altercations turning into scuffles, noisy heated arguments, people jostling and scrambling are quite a common sight in offices today. CSI has learnt that most cases of workplace violence are due to lack of co-ordination and co-operation among co-workers and also due to the apathetic and callous attitude adopted by the management towards workplace violence. The problem needs to be dealt in a broader perspective here. The management’s efforts in this area should be sustained and proactive rather than episodic and reactive. They must delve deeper into the cause of this menace and fix it without causing any sort of discomfort or disconcert to anyone whatsoever. They must bring into play all their resources to avoid such an untoward happening which can dampen the morale and spirits of the employees and such an incident can have an adverse impact on the productivity and profitability of the firm on a whole as well
